Photographic Competition 2011 - Cornish Domestic Architecture

Cornwall Sustainable Buildings Trust would like to know what you think is an iconic Cornish building, so we are launching a photographic competition that lets you show us just that. Whether you live here or are here as a visitor we want you to send us your images showing what you like about Cornish houses and what makes them special. We want photos of buildings that are incredible, weird, traditional or contemporary and we want to see them in their setting. The building must be where someone lives, but you can interpret the brief however you like. You can use digital images, or traditional photo's that you have scanned. Make sure you read the rules before you start so your entry is valid at http://cornwallrevealed.co.uk/competition.cfm We have two categories for adults (+18) and young people (-18). Pictures must be taken in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Make sure you read the rules before you start so your entry isn't invalid. Please click the link here:

Come and visit us for all the help you need. Admission £20 on Thursday (pay on the day), Free Admission on Friday 29 July for members of the public . For any queries please contact Donna Moore on 01872 224423 or Alison Johnston on 01872 224332. You can view more details, times, and a list of exhibitors in the Renewable Energy Conference Programme. Cornwall is currently heavily reliant on the importation of fossil fuels to meet much of its energy demands. Cornwall has an estimated energy bill of £1.4bn and the majority of this money leaves the Cornish economy. Energy costs continue to rise. Cornwall has a range of natural resources, such as wind, wave, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydro, from which electricity or heat may be generated. There is increasing interest in these renewable energy technologies and Cornwall Council has organised this event to bring together developers, industry and householders in order to raise awareness of the considerable potential opportunities and benefits available. The first day is aimed at industry and businesses while the second day is aimed at householders and community groups with exhibitors promoting a range of different renewable energy technologies.
